Biblical Integration
Biblical integration in all subject areas is our goal at CCS. We are blessed to affirm the reality of God and His creation of our world in our daily lessons. No part of life is isolated from God. While we use the following published texts to help us accomplish our curriculum goals, biblical truths will also be intentionally integrated with our lessons: Open Court Reading, Saxon Phonics and Spelling, McGraw-Hill Language Arts, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Mathematics, and the Core Knowledge Sequence for literature, science and social studies. We also will use a variety of supplemental materials, timed math tests, and novel studies, etc. to help us achieve our curriculum goals.
Bible Class
Bible lessons are taught by classroom teachers while second graders will gather, sing praise songs and have a Bible lesson four days a week.
Our Bible curriculum focuses on the promises of God as we study the life of Moses through the book of Exodus. The promises of God will be evident as the Israelites and their leader see both victory and tribulation as they learn to trust God. While we will be analyzing the lives of Bible characters for examples of how God deals with individuals, we will also focus on the development of our own internal character. We also integrate our lessons with character development, videos and multimedia such as Superbook.

Scripture Memorization
We will be memorizing three lengthy Scripture texts this year using the NIV Bible. The first is Ephesians 6:11-20 (The Armor of God). Students will recite Scriptures from memory on Monday morning. We encourage scripture memory work as a way to glorify God and keep God's word in our hearts and minds in their formation of becoming Christ-like.

Chapel Services
Our chapel service is every Wednesday morning. All students have the opportunity to lead us in reciting the pledge to the Bible and the pledge to the Christian flag. Students are encouraged to bring an offering/coins for "Change for a Dollar" to support others in ministry, missionaries or others in our school family who need a special blessing provided to them in times of need. Each month a new recipient will be selected.
